Arrived at L'Empire, a sweet little boutique hotel off of the rue Saint-Honoré. While it's not the George IV, it epitomizes affordable luxury at its best with super chic and modern decor, spacious rooms, conveniently situated and most importantly a staff that treats you like a member of the family -and for that I remain a loyal patron.
After a short nap (no rest for the weary) we did a quick costume change that would carry us thru the wee hours and headed out the door. I chose a rose silk blouse from Celine, (www.pinkclouds.com) which I paired with a vintage Bill Blass sequin animal printed pencil skirt, nude patent leather Brian Atwood pumps, black Preen leather cropped jacket and a black faux fur vest. I kept jewelry to a minimum with my gold “Gia” earrings and our rose and agate “Ginny” cuff for fall. As always, I finished off the look by spritzing "liaisons dangereuses” fragrance created by my friend Kilian Hennessy. (www.bykilian.com)

Helmut Newton exhibit at Le Grand Palais. Critique: Worth seeing but not
life shattering. Nonetheless, HN with his trailblazing fashion meets erotica
style he is a frequent touchstone of mine hence I was glad that I was able to
experience such a prolific and comprehensive exhibit of his work.

Herve van der Straaten (obscenely talented uber chandelier and jewelry designer) party hosted by Ruinart Champagne at Le Palais Royale. The event celebrated Herve for the exclusive and jewel like champagne bucket that he designed for Ruinart. Guests included Herve himself, Linda Fargo, Bruno Fressoni (designer for Roger Vivier and bf of Herve), Kilian Hennessy (bykilian fragrance) and many more! While I enjoyed meeting up with friends I was intrigued by the space which was designed like a hall of mirrors (think Richard Serra meets Frank Gehry.) Admittedly, I struggled to keep my balance as I teetered around the trippy room in my stiletto platforms (champagne notwithstanding!)
... And btw, my new silver mirrored rectangular Kiki ring -slated for June delivery- could have easily mingled with the party's decor reinforcing that designers are very often are on the same page (get it?)

A late dinner with friends at Le Recamier, a charming restaurant on the left bank known for their rich offerings (literally) of sweet and savory soufflés of which we OD'd ... Superb!
